Tips By Giselle: Hair looks amazing with glazing

Tips by Giselle(NC)-When women describe their dream colour, most mention celebrities whose hair colour they would like, says New York City-based, colour expert, Giselle, who colours the hair of many well known stars and consults for Clairol hair colour.

One of the most common fears about colouring women have is a fear of damaging their hair; they also worry about starting something that will be high maintenance for the rest of their lives.

"Since its launch in 1994, women colouring at home have developed a significant loyalty to Natural Instincts," observes Giselle. "Its damage protection formula - with pure aloe, chamomile and ginseng - is ammonia-free with low peroxide. And now Clairol has improved their Natural Instincts product."

New Natural Instincts offers a fresh colour formula and a deep conditioning treatment with aloe. After using Natural Instincts your hair will be in better condition than before you coloured. This makes it an ideal choice for women who are worried about the condition of their hair.

Here are some of the most exciting colour trends Giselle has identified for spring:

Glazing

What most people don't know is that it is possible to create a high-gloss, diamond-sparkling shine by using hair colour. The technique is easy, quick and quite fool proof:

. Pick a Natural Instincts colour one shade lighter than your current colour and in an empty applicator bottle mix: 1/2 of the Developer, an equal amount of shampoo, and 1/2 the bottle of the Natural Instincts Colorant.

. Shake well until all the products are mixed.

. Apply to hair and leave in for five minutes (10 minutes for more intense results). Rinse.

. Result: Your hair will glisten with lustrous shine.

Bedazzling Blonde

Create more contrast by adding dimension. To do this, weave several shades of blonde (highlights) and darker tones (lowlights) together. It creates movement and depth.

Ravishing Red

Go deeper and less golden for spring. Think woodsy red and deep auburn. Glazes work very well between touch ups to brighten and freshen up the colour.

Beautiful Brunette

Warmer browns are the trend with natural looking highlights. Keep hair colour shiny and dimensional with semi-permanent, or translucent colour like Natural Instincts.

In addition to glazing, weekly deep treatments go a long way to revive shine and lustre on previously coloured hair.
